Chef Ben began his culinary journey at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale in Arizona, starting as a storeroom clerk while pursuing his college education. It wasn't long before his talents were recognized, and he was invited to assist in the kitchen, where he discovered a passion for the culinary arts and found his true calling.
Over the years, Chef Ben has sharpened his skills at prestigious resorts like The Boulders and The Phoenician Resort, working alongside master European chefs. His career spans more than 32 years, during which he has held esteemed Executive Chef positions at Firerock Country Club, Green Gables Country Club, Blackstone Country Club, Midland Country Club, and The Berkshire Country Club.
Chef Ben's culinary style is not only shaped by his technical expertise but also by his passion for connecting with members and guests. He truly values the close-knit environment of private clubs, and the relationships built within the community.
Beyond the kitchen, Chef Ben and his wife Ellen have enjoyed 27 wonderful years of marriage. They are proud parents of two children: their daughter, Lindsay, works as a nursing assistant at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, and their son, Joe, recently graduated with a fine arts degree from Texas Tech and is now working at Charles Schwab in Westlake.
